Oscars Jewelry – (San José del Cabo)

(1/5) I purchased a pair of ruby earrings from this store on November 13 while visiting San José del Cabo. The service was excellent and I really love the jewelry I bought. However, I was told that the receipt and certificate would be emailed to me the next day, and I still have not received anything after more than a week. Now that I am back home, I’ve tried contacting the store by phone and Instagram with no success. I am leaving this one-star review only because I’m missing the receipt and certificate, which are important for insurance and records. I hope the store can resolve this soon, as I truly enjoyed the experience otherwise.

La cadena estaba completamente mal y parecía de juguete. Me mandó algo que no le pedi y ahora no responde. Si quieres perder tu dinero, pegar corajes, y ser robado, cómprale a Oscar.

(5/5) Oscars jewelry is fantastic! We were out searching for the perfect bracelet and just could not find the one. Oscar made a gorgeous custom opal bracelet! He even delivered it to our hotel in an extremely timely manner because we were in a huge time crunch! 100% will be back!

(5/5) We came to Cabo for vacation and ended up in Oscars Jewelry looking for an opal bracelet for my friend. We had been all over town and had not found the piece or the service we were looking for. I happened to see an opal bracelet that matched the earrings I had bought at another shop. Oscar sized the bracelet for me, repaired the earring posts I was concerned about, and made me a matching pendant for my necklace. He delivered the pieces to our hotel the next day. He custom made an opal bracelet for my friend that is just gorgeous. We are both very very happy!

(5/5) Met Oscar today and he took great care of us. Honest, very informative, with an exquisite collection of jewelry at his shop. Bought a beautiful Mexican Fire Opel ring and was very happy with the transaction. Appreciate you, Oscar!

(1/5) I had met with Oscar to build a custom Gold Aztek piece. Was very friendly. Paid on my Amex card and he promised would deliver to hotel. Also advised would get a confirmation email. I never received the email. Followed up. No response. Delivery never came. Tried calling and using Instagram account he recommended. No answer or response for several days. Paid and no merchandise. Total scam. Do not make the same mistake. Please beware and find another jeweler.

(1/5) Stopped by Oscars this evening and bought a silver chain and silver rose pendant. When I tried it on I loved how they both looked together and bought them. Once we got home I looked in the mirror and noticed the chain didn’t look how it did in the store, but I didn’t look closer and brushed it off. Later in the evening I looked at it more in the mirror and saw again that the chain did not look the same as it did in the shop. I took it off and looked at the clasp an realized it 100% was NOT the same chain. In the store I picked out 2 chains and 3 pendants to try on and mix and match. I remember Oscar showing my boyfriend how to hook the clasp onto the loop so he could put the necklace on me himself. I watched as he showed him how to do it and I saw that the chain that I CHOSE, had an oval-style clasp. And then when I got home and took off the necklace to look as it more closely I saw the clasp on the chain was circular. That’s when I knew 100% it was not the same chain. I noticed throughout the transaction that he had me take off the necklace a couple times. One of the times it was because he weighed it in grams instead of ounces and had to reweigh it. I didn’t think much of it because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I don’t want people to feel bad for simple mistakes. I don’t know if the chain was switched on accident or on purpose. Now I’m starting to feel it was on purpose after looking back on everything. It’s just disappointing and it makes me sad that this happened. I saved a lot of money for this trip to Mexico and wanted to buy a unique piece of jewelry, but I just feel like I got played. Maybe it was an accident, and I’m wrong. Oscars hospitality was great and he was kind. It just seems questionable that there wasn’t more attention paid to keeping the chains separated. If you do chose to go here just pay a lot of attention to what you’re buying and the transaction process.

(5/5) Great quality at great prices. My husband spoiled me with a 3 piece necklace, ring and bracelet set that I cannot wait to wear them for my birthday dinner in Las Vegas. And the fact that they offer a warranty for their jewelry is even more of a reason to shop with Oscar. We also were able to meet Oscar and have him help us with our selections. We will DEFINITELY be back to see Oscar.

(5/5) Oscar made a matching necklace to my bracelet. It was 6:00pm on the night of the art walk. He delivered it to my hotel at 11:30pm that evening. I was impressed with his service and the match was excellent.

(1/5) These guys are a total scam. If you don’t buy it on the spot, don’t buy it. They scurry from shop-to-shop (wonderful collusion) to “find” what you want and then want you to pay cash. Do NOT let them tell you they will make something and deliver it to you. Not only do they not but they use the shorter post period on Visa/Mastercard to take advantage of you but because they are out of the way, they do not answer their phone so you cannot reach them. We have cancelled the order we had asked them to make for us and HIGHLY suggest you steer well clear.

(5/5) We have been shopping here for 10 years when we first started visiting this area. The owner is amazing and has gone out of his way many times to see that we got what we wanted. He is honest and very friendly. He never makes us feel like we are wasting his time. The employees have the same work ethic. I would highly recommend this business.

(5/5) Had a one of a kind experience with Oscar yesterday. Absolutely amazing service, and even got to pick our own clam which had a red pearl inside it. Will definitely stop through every time we visit.

(2/5) I purchased an opal bangle bracelet. We compromised on a price and they agreed on $175 cdn. I was charged $2950 pesos which is $218.67 Canadian dollars. SHAME on you for your dishonesty!
